Pine-ringed meadows and easy walking, an hour south-west of Srinagar.

Best time: April to October Altitude: 2,400 m 47 km (about 1.5 hours) from Srinagar
Yusmarg is a quiet cluster of meadows backed by pine forest and, further out, the Pir Panjal. It is a short drive from Srinagar and rarely crowded. Nilnag Lake and the Doodh Ganga stream are the usual walks.
